Touring the Caribbean is an Honor
Learning I’d been selected to represent my organization overseas at multiple military bases was a feeling unlike any other. Since this was my second military tour, I already knew the impact touring has. Military tours have an impact on me and also the lives of the men, women and their families on the bases. However, this particular tour was special. It was truly an experience I will forever hold near and dear to my heart.
It’s so humbling to see and understand what our service men and women do in their day-to-day lives while deployed. By no means are their tasks easy. Because of their efforts, I have a renewed sense of appreciation for their dedication and commitment to our country. They are the real heroes and it’s always an honor and privilege to spend valuable time with them.
Lasting Memories Lead to Lasting Friendships
There are so many amazing events and experiences on tour. But, listening and learning about so many of the individuals stationed on base is my most cherished memory. Taking the time to listen and hear their life story, goals, aspirations, their journey and what motivates them is the most rewarding part. While on tour, I met so many incredible people. One of the individuals I had the pleasure of spending time with was Tanner. I am eternally grateful our paths crossed. He lives at the base AUTEC on Andros Island in the Bahamas with his dad who is serving in the military. Due to the fact that it is such a small base, there are only a few kids his age who live on base with him. He is living a life that most people wouldn’t think twice about. His spirit, motivation, and faith are all driving factors for him and he makes the most of what he has. He has dreams of becoming a veterinarian one day and I truly believe he is capable of amazing things.
Grateful and Humbled on My Military Tour
Visiting Curacao, Bahamas and Cuba was a true honor and I am so thankful for the experience. Thank you to ProTour Productions and Armed Forces Entertainment for creating this amazing platform to make the difference in the lives of our brave U.S military. It was truly a privilege to not only represent my favorite team in the NFL but to spend Super Bowl week with the individuals sacrificing their lives for all of us. I hope I was able to impact their lives as much as they impacted mine.
